Biography
Lucian Lee was a Senior Associate at Dan Tan Law, where he focused on international commercial arbitration and arbitration-related litigation. His practice spanned disputes under all major arbitral institutions, including SIAC, ICC, ICDR, HKIAC, AAA, and UNCITRAL, and covered jurisdictions across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America.
Lucian represented multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals in high-stakes disputes across a broad spectrum of sectors, including energy, technology, venture capital, digital advertising, hospitality, and blockchain. He was also regularly appointed as tribunal secretary in complex arbitrations, assisting tribunals in drafting awards and managing cross-border procedural issues.
Notable matters include:
Representing a West African power distributor in a US$700 million UNCITRAL arbitration against a state-owned enterprise;
Defending a Singapore-based crypto hedge fund in emergency arbitration proceedings involving US$2.4 billion in alleged losses;
Acting for a U.S. investor in a US$3.6 million ICDR arbitration involving misrepresentation claims against a Central European tech startup;
Supporting award enforcement efforts in investor-state proceedings against a Middle Eastern state in U.S. federal court;
Assisting a Chinese VC firm in the enforcement of a US$25 million arbitral award before the Singapore High Court;
Serving as tribunal secretary in arbitrations under ICC, ICDR, AAA, and HKIAC rules.
In addition to his arbitration practice, Lucian appeared before the Singapore courts in arbitration-related matters, including setting-aside proceedings and stay applications.Lucian is currently pursuing an LL.M. in International Economic Law, Business & Policy at Stanford Law School, with graduation expected in June 2026.
